MULTICOLOR SILVER & GLASS MADE SILVER PROOF COIN
A group of about eight craftsmen and artisans from
Poland were part of the second party of settlers to join the Jamestown
settlement in Virginia. They arrived in 1608, just two years after the
founding of Jamestown as the first permanent English settlement in North
America. Included in the party were glass makers who built a first glass
smelting furnace, allowing for the production of jars and windowpanes. To
mark the 400th anniversary of these early settlers, Poland issued a silver and
glass 10 Zlotych. The 10 Zlote has a glass center picturing a glass blower
surrounded by a silver ring. Various images of the settlers and their craft are
pictured on the silver ring. The silver has an antiqued finish. The coin comes
in a protective plastic capsule.
SILVER PROOF COIN WITH SQUARE HOLE

The 32mm sterling silver Proof 10 Zlotych has a square center hole, echoing the
traditional square holed Chinese cash coin. The coin contains .4205 troy ounces
of silver. A windsurfer is on the reverse. The obverse shows the a
portion of the Forbidden City, the logo of the Polish Olympic committee.
