UNUSUAL MULTICOLOR CANNABIS COIN
The West African nation of Benin issued this
colored legal tender coin featuring Cannabis Sativa, commonly known as
marijuana, pot, grass, weed and many other names as well. The 2011 issue
is shaped like a marijuana leaf. The 44mm silver-plated copper-nickel
coin looks like a green cannabis leaf on one side and has the arms of Benin and
the denomination on the other. The coin will supposedly smell like
cannabis when rubbed. This Proof coin denominated as 100 Francs CFA.
The coin has a limited mintage of just 2,500 pieces and comes in a capsule with
a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
